POLLICINA MOTORSPORTS: ARMOR ALL BATHURST 12 HOUR – HOUR NINE UPDATE

The 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour has now reached three quarter race distance and after nine hours, Pollicina Motorsports are currently on track to finish with highly respectable top ten position.

For the last hour, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII with John O’Dowd at the wheel has been circulating around in eighth position, with Hankook’s Mark Brame and the Osborne Motorsport Mazda 3 MPS of Trevor Keene challenging the Lancer for the final three top ten positions on track.

Jim Pollicina, lead driver and team owner, is quite happy with the car’s current progress but remains cautious of what the final three hours could bring. “Three hours is a long time,” said Pollicina. “We’re getting Simon (Middleton) ready to take over the car for his stint, we have two stints left. Assuming all goes well, we’re hoping for a top ten finish whether we get eighth, ninth or tenth but we’ll just have to wait for another three hours.”

As the clock continues to wind down to the 6:30pm finish, O’Dowd remains in the car and not long ago dropped a place to be ninth behind the Hankook Lancer of Brame. But O’Dowd is approximately five seconds behind and is still within earshot of the much faster Hankook entry.
