So far, everything is going according to plan for Pollicina Motorsorts at the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour. After taking over from John O’Dowd at the 90-minute mark, Simon Middleton has been steadily keeping pace with the top ten and has gained a total of three positions in his stint so far.
Now settling into a rhythm in the mid 2m30s, Middleton has set the team’s fastest lap of race on lap 61 with a 2m38.8957s. The teams is now preparing for the next pit stop of the race, with owner-driver Pollicina ready to step behind the wheel for the first time today. The team is currently happy with the fuel consumption the Evo VIII Lancer is delivering and as well as the tyre wear, which has been minimal.
At the three-hour mark, they are sitting 11th and knocking on the door of the top ten. They are two laps adrift of the current leader, which is still the TMR Lancer now with Rod Salmon at the wheel.
